International Relations Program

Tyler Connelly is a 2023 New Colombo Plan mobility grant recipient from The University of Western Australia. She is studying Bachelor of Arts. Ella undertook the International Relations Program for one semester at Parahyangan Catholic University from August until December 2023.

Q: Why did you decide to undertake ACICIS’ International Relations Program (IRP)?

To spend some time away in a country that I want to learn so much more about.

Q: Did you receive a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant? If so, how did this contribute to your experience in Indonesia? 

Yes, I received a New Colombo mobility grant. It meant I could travel a lot more in my spare time. And actually get to see a bit more of the beautiful country.

Q: What classes/units are you currently enrolled in? (List and brief description)

I completed my units in International relations in South East Asia, Diplomacy, Peace and Conflict and Foreign Policy Analysis.

Q: How will the International Relations Program influence your future career or study?

Through my knowledge gained in the program I will further progress my knowledge in the field of International relations to hopefully one day become an Australian / Indonesian diplomat or NGO worker.

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time ?

I surf a lot in my spare time.

Q: Favourite Indonesian food/ favourite place to eat:

Pisang Goreng.

Q: Favourite Indonesian word/phrase:

Mantap.

Q: What places in Indonesia have you visited during your Semester so far?

Lake Toba & Bukit Lawang (Sumatra),  Belitung, Lombok / Gilli Islands.
