Chloe Reay is a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant recipient from University of New South Wales. Chloe undertook the Virtual Indonesian Language Short Course in July 2021.
Due to COVID I have been unable to go to Indonesia as I had planned, so I thought this course would be an excellent opportunity to improve my language skills and also my cultural understanding.
Receiving this grant meant that I could choose this course without having to worry about finances.
I loved how enthusiastic and helpful the teachers were!
For me, learning to listen to native speakers was very challenging but it definitely helped me improve!
Yes, the cultural sessions were very informative and it was especially helpful to be able to ask Indonesian students questions about culture and society today!
This course will assist me significantly, by gaining a deeper understanding of the language I am one step closer to becoming certified in my workplace as an Indonesian speaker.
I would definitely recommend this program to my friends and I really want to participate in this program again!
