Schinder Law Firm boasts a variety of clients, including large multinational companies and SMEs, traditional manufacturing businesses, well-known domestic and foreign investment banks, insurance companies, power plant project owners, mining companies, oil and gas companies, foundations, real estate companies, telecommunications providers, IT companies as well as tourism and other service-oriented enterprises. Requirements

a. Good interpersonal dan communication skill.

b. Good command in Mandarin and Indonesia will be an advantage.

Intern Duties (Example)

a. The students will be attached to our Foreign Direct Investment projects. He/she will be able to observe our lawyers workstream in assisting and advising clients on the establishment of companies, joint ventures, business licensing and permits.

b. The students will be involved directly with the administrative works and, if possible, help the team with English proofreading. We also expect the student to write paper (s) and deliver presentation (s) on comparative analysis of Australian and Indonesian laws regarding the specific matter (s).

c. Other than exposure to legal works in Indonesia, we expect the student to participate in formal and informal bonding events of the firm that he/she will benefit from the social interactions as a cross-cultural experience.

d. The mentor (still to be confirmed), will be a partner of our firm. The mentor will instruct the student and provide guidance on professional and, to a reasonable extent, personal matters related to work and life in Jakarta. The mentor will give feedback and advice to the student on the student’s contributions to the firm as well as draft reflective journal and practicum report.

e. At the end of the placement, we expect the student to understand the basic know-how on setting up investment in Indonesia and the cultural nuance of doing business in Indonesia. Therefore, the placement experience will benefit the student in terms of knowledge, cultural sensitivity as well as Indonesia networks.

f. In reciprocity, we hope the student can promote Australian investments to Indonesia. Therefore, indirectly contributing to the economic development of Indonesia. Additionally, we will request the student to prepare a testimonial on our firm based on his/her placement experience which can be used for marketing purposes.

Semi-formal (e.g. Business attire, collared shirts/ blouses, trousers/long skirt, long dress covering shoulders and knees, batik shirt/ blouse/ dress, closed toe shoes. No t-shirts, shorts, flip-flops)

Work Hours

Monday to Friday (08.00 AM to 05.00 PM), equivalent to 40 hours per week
