About Perludem
Perkumpulan untuk Pemilu dan Demokrasi, otherwise known as Perludem, is an independent non-profit organization that carries out research, advocacy, monitoring, education, and training in the field of elections and democracy for policy makers, organizers, participants, and voters, whose sources of funding come from fundraising and other non-binding assistance.
The scope of activities of Perludem throughout the organization’s journey is varied with advocacy as its main core. The advocacy carried out by Perludem is carried out with an evidence-based approach, so that the substance of the advocacy has a strong academic bargain. But in general, the activities of Perludem are:
- Reviewing: reviewing election regulations, mechanisms and procedures; reviewing the implementation of the Election; mapping the strengths and weaknesses of the election regulations; describe the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of the General Election; submit recommendations for improvement of systems and regulations; etc;
- Training: participate in efforts to increase the understanding of election stakeholders about the philosophy of elections; increase the understanding of community leaders about the importance of community participation in elections; improve the knowledge and skills of election officials; improve the knowledge and skills of election observers; etc;
- Monitoring: monitoring the implementation of the General Election; participate in monitoring election organizers to work in accordance with existing regulations; record and document cases of election violations and disputes; etc.

Intern Duties (Example)
Research:
Researching the electoral finance laws of Indonesia in comparison to those in Australia;
Researching on how Indonesia can increase voter participation based on its current electoral law;
Other duties:
Brainstorming ideas for a social media advertisement that Perludem will develop, encouraging voter turnout;
Assisting the organisation with editing and reviewing organisation’s English publications;
