About UNIC

The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Jakarta represents the Department of Public Information of the United Nations, created in 1946 “to promote an informed understanding of the work of the United Nations among the peoples of the world”.

UNIC Jakarta is one of the principal sources of information about the United Nations in Indonesia. It is part of a network of 60 such offices and centres around the world that reach out to the media and civil society – educational institutions, business and professional associations, faith-based and community organizations – building partnerships for the promotion of United Nations goals, objectives and principles.

Requirements

Computers and desks are available so a laptop is not required.

Intern Duties (Example)

  • media monitoring
  • attend meeting
  • editing and producing reports
  • involve in UNIC projects (making power point for road shows/events, created a 3-page Info kit, etc)
  • designing the structure and format for UN website

Work Hours

9 AM – 5 PM

Dress Code

Semi-formal (e.g. Business attire, collared shirts/ blouses, trousers/long skirt, long dress covering shoulders and knees, batik shirt/ blouse/ dress, closed toe shoes. No t-shirts, shorts, flip flops)
