ACICIS Professional Practicum Coordinator for DSPP, STPP, and CADPP (Eastern Operations)

Amalia (Dea) was awarded an Australia Awards Scholarship in 2015 and now holds a Master Degree in Environmental Management and Sustainability from Monash University. Before joining ACICIS, she was involved in research and environmental advocacy projects. She worked as a research and teaching assistant during her undergraduate studies and worked full-time as a Research Associate for the Forest Resource Conservation, Faculty of Forestry, at Universitas Gadjah Mada after she graduated. Her researches mainly focused on biodiversity conservation and sustainable development, environmental governance and management, and political ecology (published a co-authored book in 2014, on protected area management). Her passion for biodiversity conservation have motivated her to work with NGOs in Indonesia and Australia i.e. International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA), Yayasan WWF Indonesia, Cairns and Far North Environment Centre (CAFNEC); advocating for forestry conservation, wildlife protection, and sustainable living.
