The CADPP Academic Program Officer for 2020 is Dr Elly Kent.
Elly Kent is a translator, writer, artist and is currently a Visiting Fellow at The Australian National University’s Centre for Art History and Art Theory (CAHAT). Her research is focused on contemporary and historical art and design practice across Indonesia, a topic she has published widely on. Elly’s most recent publications include essays in the National Gallery of Australia’s catalogue to the exhibition Contemporary Worlds: Indonesia, The Asian Art Society of Australia Review and the Encyclopedia of Women in Islamic Cultures. Elly has lived and worked in Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia, throughout her life, and this has had an abiding effect on her outlook. She was the recipient of a Prime Minister’s Australia-Asia Postgraduate Award in 2012, and the 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art’s emerging artist award in the same year
