ACICIS Bandung Internship Program

A position has become available within the Bandung office of The Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesian Studies (ACICIS) for a Program Assistant (PA) intern in our Bandung office. This is an entry-level position and would suit a student in their final semester with an interest in International Relations, Australia-Indonesia Politics, Cross-Cultural Communication, and Public Diplomacy. Please find below the position description and selection criteria.

As a PA intern you will get a hands-on experience about people to people diplomacy between Australia and Indonesia through higher education as you will be actively involved in the preparation and implementation of ACICIS programs in Bandung, International Relations Program (IRP) and West Java Field Study (WJFS). You will then help the students on matters of adjustment to the academic culture and Indonesian life in general as a student in Universitas Katholik Parahyangan. In addition to that, you will also serve as a liaison with partner universities and host organisations to maintain sound relationships with key personnel at these institutions.

PA intern will work on a part time basis (~20 hours per week) with the understanding that the scheduling of program events means that the distribution of hours over the period of a week may be flexible. To accommodate the intern’s needs in delivering the works with ACICIS, we will also provide a monthly transportation and communication allowance during the internship period.

In preparing your statement addressing the above selection criteria, please provide examples where possible of how you meet each criterion. Please visit our website: www.acicis.edu.au to learn more about ACICIS’ Bandung programs at UNPAR and the work we do before preparing your application.
