Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), or Bogor Agricultural University, was established on 1 September 1963, birthed from a vision to be a world-class university in the fields of agriculture and bioscience. It was established with the aim to strengthen food security, bioenergy, job creation, poverty alleviation, and environmental protection in the region and beyond. IPB is the only state-run university in Indonesia focusing on tropical agriculture and life sciences and is internationally renowned in its field. It has long standing partnerships with foreign universities and institutions and its international partnerships involve student and academic staff exchange, research collaborations, joint publication, and dual degree programs.
